Now

A quarter of locking in and improving my skills

Last updated: June 15, 2026

The concept of a "Now Page" was initiated by Derek Sivers in 2015. The idea is simple: unlike the "About" page that provides general information about a person or subject, the "Now" page gives details about what is currently happening in the person’s life, in real time.

I’m currently based in Accra, Ghana, while making plans to relocate to the United Kingdom in search of better opportunities — not only to earn more, but to grow more deeply as a software engineer.

This is a transitional season for me. I have moved on from my previous job, and I’m using this time intentionally: to grow as a father, to take on more responsibility at home, to build, to learn, and to become sharper in the areas that matter to me.

Work

Professionally, I’m currently between roles and open to the right opportunity.

I’m especially interested in work that helps me stretch as a software engineer: technically challenging products, thoughtful teams, strong engineering culture, and environments where I can continue growing in mobile engineering, product thinking, and software architecture.

Building

Right now, I’m working on Celia — a time-blocking and discipline app named after my daughter.

The idea is personal: helping people take back their time from distraction and spend it on what actually matters. It sits somewhere between focus, self-discipline, accountability, and care.

I’m still shaping the product, but the heart of it is simple: build a calmer, more intentional way to interrupt doomscrolling and make room for better choices.

Learning

Technically, I’m currently honing my skills in native mobile development:

  • Android, using Kotlin
  • iOS, using Swift

My focus is not just on learning syntax or frameworks, but on becoming better at building well-structured, maintainable mobile applications.

Creatively, I’m also taking more street photographs. Photography gives me a different way to observe the world, slow down, and notice ordinary moments with more care.

Health

I’m also paying closer attention to my health.

With some time now available, I’ve dedicated a couple of hours a day, four days a week, to working out. The goal is not to chase an extreme physique, but to stay lean, healthy, and strong enough to show up well for my life.

Reading

I maintain that I’m not an avid reader. I’m not the kind of guy that boasts about reading 100 books a year. I plan on reading one book each month, starting with Inside the Box: How Constraints Make Us Better by David Epstein. It feels like the right kind of book for this season: a reminder that limits do not always hold us back. Sometimes, they give us the structure we need to think better, build better, and become more focused.

What I’m avoiding

I’m trying to say no to overthinking and distractions.

Both can quietly take more from me than I realise: focus, confidence, time, energy, and momentum. This season is about being more deliberate with what gets my attention.

Home

I’m keeping this part private.

What matters publicly is this: family is a big part of this season, and a lot of the work I’m doing right now is connected to becoming more present, useful, and dependable at home.

Current Mood

Calm. Honest. Minimal. Reflective. Technical.

I’m in a season of rebuilding and becoming — not loudly, but intentionally.
